The vice president of AVIA, José Luis Tejerina, is confident that Volkswagen-Seat will join the Valencian cluster

The vice president of AVIA, José Luis Tejerina, has valued the capacity of the automotive and mobility suppliers of the Valencian Community with a view to the installation of the gigafactory of batteries of the Volkswagen-Seat group in Sagunt. Tejerina has made these statements within the framework of the Valencian Economic Forum, “The Economy of Opportunities”, organized by the newspaper El Español, on November 28 and 29

José Luis Tejerina has recognized that there have been informal conversations to assess the entry of the Volkswagen-Seat Group into AVIA “which would allow the associated companies to know first-hand the real needs and opportunities that can be opened up with this installation“.

What is certain, according to Tejerina, is that“AVIA provides the multinational with all the experience of suppliers that work with quality standards and with a high capacity for innovation. We also have highly technical work teams used to working on collaborative projects with OEMs and Tier 1, which allows them to adapt to the needs expressed by the management of the gigafactory”.

The head of AVIA recognizes that this plant will require many highly qualified and technical profiles, which will provide quality and stable jobs for the entire territory. He also believes that this investment will attract other companies related to the electric vehicle manufacturing value chain “and all of them will have a place in the automotive and mobility cluster of the Valencian Community.

uring his speech at the Valencian Economic Forum of El Español, the vice president of AVIA, José Luis Tejerina, also emphasized the need for technical profiles for the demand that will occur from 2026 when the Volkswagen gigafactory in Sagunt and begin manufacturing the electric vehicles awarded to Ford Almussafes.“We have to value Vocational Training and the need to eliminate any stigma it may have. Engineers are the tip of the iceberg, but companies are made up of employees who are at technical levels and who control machines, who are focused on quality and productivity”.
