In April 1970, Ford started a new process in Spain, showing interest in entering the national market, and with the possibility of opening a manufacturing plant in Spain. Five years later, the Almussafes plant was a reality. The factory was formed by two plants, one dedicated to car manufacturing and the other focused on engine manufacturing.

Nowadays, Ford Almussafes is producing the Ford C-Max, Ford Kuga and Ford Transit Connect. In a near future, the Ford Mondeo, the Ford S-Max and the Ford Galaxy. will also be produced here.

Company has been world-wide acknowledging for its successive launching of different car models as Ford Ka, Ford Focus y Ford Fiesta. The valencian company has enough reasons for fighting within the Ford Motor Co., thanks to the implementation of a flexible manufacturing system, capable of producing four different models within a same production line.
